Have you heard the saying, “If You Are Not Learning, You Are Not Growing?” So you seek out medical advice for your pain &/or your inability to live your life the way you want but can’t seem to get answers? Want to learn how you developed this pain and/or inability to move normal in life? Well…it is time to grow!
Dr. Karl Lewitt said, “I am always aware of how many things which I taught in my long past have since proved wrong. The most important attitude is therefore to be constantly aware that what you are doing and teaching now you have to modify in view of new facts. Thus you must keep an open mind for new ideas even if they sometimes show that you believed and taught before was wrong.” Growing & Learning can be a challenge. Especially growing in a way when your knowledge conflicts with previous ideas and notions.
If you haven’t found the answers to your pain &/or physical limitations, maybe some learning is in order. You may need to learn a couple of things.
First, learn & find a medical practitioner that understands You! Your Condition, Your Limitations, Your Goals! If they can’t, won’t, or haven’t, you need to seek a practitioner that will. Your issue is unique to you. You should learn why this happened, how to improve your situation, and prevent it from happening again if at all possible. Don’t accept a cookie cutter approach to your pain & condition. Your situation is unique to you…so should be your healing regimen! Your healing regimen should take into effect your goals which in turn determines your treatment strategy.
Secondly, time doesn’t heal all wounds. Don’t accept being given painkillers, medications, and drugs as the only way to get you back to you being YOU! Painkillers & medications have their place in medicine but shouldn’t be the sole medical plan when pain and/or physical limitations appear. If you have a physical limitation…maybe physical therapy (*3555) would be of some benefit…needed??? Often, we hear that after many other attempts of conventional medicine over a long course of time, you are now being sent to physical therapy as a last resort. Why not Physical Therapy First??? Maybe one day, conventional medicine will Learn! Maybe not…
Finally, what you Learn has a multitude of benefits. With your new found knowledge, it helps you being a stronger advocate for your own condition. Knowledge applied correctly is powerful. Be powerful in your own health-care, don’t wait until you are sick to apply what you have learned. Your new knowledge can also help others who may be in need of assistance but aren’t receiving it. Now, you become a teacher, pass on knowledge, and help others learn & grow. Paying it forward!
