Ever have a really good conversation and then totally forget about it until later? Well this just happened to me recently. I was interviewed by Bob Flynn for an article he was writing for a local magazine. I totally forgot about the conversation until the unexpected happened.
A magazine arrived in our clinic a couple weeks ago. On the cover it said “Cycling’s Latest Craze” in bold print. Even I was curious about the headline. Was this another article talking about Gravel cycling (aka the fastest growth in cycling worldwide) by our local media outlet? *4661 Ps…I started riding gravel back in 2014 while Victor started this year with my assistance – ask him about it…his enthusiasm is contagious.
As I opened & turned to the page this image appeared:
Then I read the title: “Bikepacking: Cycling’s Latest Craze” (If you would like to read his article – click Bikepacking ). Oh yeah…I remember talking with a guy named Bob about that subject. As I pursued the article I saw my name and the name of my good friend and bike mechanic extraordinaire Robert. I thought this so very cool. I am a part of the “Latest Craze” thus possibly may be trendy for once in my life…only took 50 years!
I love spreading the word of things that I enjoy and that you may as well. Last December I attempted my first Ultra BikePacking Race: the CFiTT. I was unable to complete it due to a bike mechanical issue but I didn’t lose the desire, my non-completion only fueled my fire. In March of this year, I attempted and completed a 368 mile Ultra BikePacking Race: HuRaCaN 300 (if you would like to read my blog posts about it, you can click HERE & HERE to read about my adventure).
So if You want to be part of the “Latest Craze”, try BikePacking! (If you have any further questions or would like to learn more, please don’t hesitate to contact me). It’s fun, it’s adventurous, it gets you out and exploring into our beautiful world, and allows you to be healthy and fit. Maybe you can possibly be trendy as well…you never know!
