Looking For Some Good News while having Knee Pain? Having a Difficult Time Finding Some Positivity Especially When You Are In Pain?
Well…I have some Good News for You! And this comes from someone who knows about Knee Pain but has come back from having Pain, Injury, and Surgery.
As devastating as knee pain is, let me give you some advice and hope. First the advice. It you have had pain and the inability to move like you want for more than 21 days AND there’s no meaningful improvement – seek medical assistance. It may – or may not get better on its’ own but why chance it? And suffer needlessly?
Second, there is hope if you suffer with Leg / Knee Pain. I am proof. With the correct guidance, implementation, and execution of conservative strategies, one can manage knee pain and recover. The only reason I went the surgical route is because of my age and high-level dynamic sports I was still competing in. As my surgeon said: “If the most extreme activity you did was golf & gardening – you wouldn’t need knee surgery.”
But enough about me!!! What about YOU???
Are You or Someone You Know Experiencing the following?
- Swelling
- Stiffness
- Weakness or instability
- Popping or crunching noises
- Inability to fully straighten the knee
These are some of the signs and symptoms of an Un-healthy knee. We often are asked about this hobby or that activity when one has one or more of the above listed signs & symptoms but that is NOT the essential question.
The essential question should be…What caused those signs & symptoms? And, what can be done to reduce and prevent it in the future? Before we worry about activities & hobbies which are on the fitness realm, we need to get your knee healthy!
And the course of action to get your knee back to health and then resilient enough to handle fitness related activities is dependent upon…well – You! Everyone is different. There is no secret formula or program. Your “healthy knee” program should be based upon your condition and past medical history. But the key is – don’t wait!
