A comprehensive initial assessment is multi-faceted and essential.
First, a detailed history of possible pain and your problem with be taken, including any previous episodes that you may have had, in addition to relevant health and lifestyle questions.
Second, following this history taking, a physical assessment will be made to determine the clinical diagnosis of your pain or injury. During this time, you may be asked to partly undress so that the physical therapist can examine the problem and surrounding areas more accurately (please see: what should I wear to my physical therapy session below).
Finally, following both the history and physical assessment where a clinical diagnosis is determined, a “Personalized Care Plan” will be discussed with you outlining your treatment program and how many sessions we estimate it will take to get you back to enjoying life free of pain or injury.
